This great orchestra has performed along the NW Florida Gulf Coast since 1982. The only authentic and professional Big Band Sound in NW Florida, the Orchestra maintains its' skills and showmanship through weekly rehearsals and a stable personnel base. Organized as a Not-for-Profit small business, the Orchestra strives to perform the classic big band tunes just as the original bands. We maintain a library of over 600 arrangements, and utilize a full compliment of 18 musicians with a variety of vocalists. The orchestra enjoys playing the music of Glenn Miller, Stan Kenton, Buddy Rich, Count Basie, the Elgarts and other legendary Big Bands. The band has consistently maintained its' popularity with dancing groups of all ages along the Gulf Coast over the years. As we enter our third decade, we like to say that..'Our only competition is our last performance.'

Now Georgie has at last realized his life-long dream of leading a Big Band and playing the music of his musical idols from the 1930's, '40's, and '50's. Steve Waterman is renowned as one of the top British jazz trumpet players both at home and on the international scene, Steve began his career while studying at Trinity College Of Music, and since then has worked regularly on the British and European jazz scene.

SWJO has performed to a sell out theatre at Brecon Jazz Festival, and has been booked to play at the Cork Jazz Festival 2005.

As well as the 18-piece jazz orchestra, Steve has his own Quartet and Quintet with which he has recorded three critically acclaimed CDs of his own compositions and arrangements

Steve has toured Europe playing at many of the major Jazz Festivals with the Carla Bley Big Band and recorded two CDs for the ECM label

Other performers that Steve has regularly worked and recorded with include :ANDY SHEPPARD, TONY COE, VICTOR MENDOZA, MAL WALDRON, GRAHAM COLLIER, MIKE GARRICK, DON WELLER, COLIN TOWNS & ROBIN JONES.

As a composer Steve has had a number of commissions ranging from small group to big band.

Steve is very committed to Jazz education. He has co -written with John ONeil a highly acclaimed Jazz Trumpet tutor book - THE JAZZ METHOD FOR TRUMPET published by Schott & Co. He is professor of Jazz Trumpet at The Royal Academy Of Music and Trinty College of Music in London and teaches on many summer jazz courses. Steve has conducted numerous Trumpet master classes and has conducted workshops ranging in size from small groups to big bands.

The Nouveau-Passe Orchestra specializes in hot jazz and dance music 20 the 20's and 30's. The band consists of 2 trumpets, trombone, 3 saxes, tuba, banjo/guitar, piano, drums and a vocalist. The N.P.O has been in existence just over a year. We do concerts, private funtions, parties, club gigs, etc. My reason for putting together this type of band was that there are 101 "big bands" playing the Miller, Dorsey, Goodman stuff already. The Windham Swing Band was formed in 1998 and plays the popular big band tunes from the big band era. We have full trumpet, trombone, sax, and rhythm sections with 22 members, including female vocals. Our mission is to bring live big band music to the surrounding communties in NH and Mass. We have played at the Sea Shell at Hampton Beach, the Haverhill summer concert series, the Lowell concert series, Newburyport Yankee Homecoming, private events, fund raisers, and local community concerts and dances. Our annual "Evening of Music" at Castleton in Windham, NH, has been a sellout for the last 7 years, with over 350 guests enjoying the music and dancing. [ Bob Wilbur Big Band ]
The Bob Wilbur Band.....What a great orchestra. This popular new New England big band leader led his orchestra during the Swing era, from the late 1940's to the early '70's. He made his musical debut on March 1st 1947 at the age of 15 in Massachussets. Back then, he was booked by the Slater Orchestra Service Of Worcester, MA. The band played all the great venues in the New England ballroom circuit. (Whalom Park in Lunenberg MA. -Roseland Ballroom in Holyoke, MA, -King Phillip Ballroom in Wrentham, MA, -Old Orchard Beach in ME., and many more. They were the house band at Joyland Ballroom in Woonsocket, RI alternating with name bands and backing name vocalists such as Mel Torme, Eileen Barton, Sunny Gale among others. Even after the Big Band Era had started to fade, they continued working (as a sextet house band) at Ballard's Supper Club In Rhode Island, where they did back up work for Cab Calloway, Billy Daniels, Sarah Vaughn, Gregory Hines, etc. After that, they worked as house band at world famous Pleasant Valley Country Club in Sutton MA, and there backed such shows such as the Lennon Sisters. In 1987, Bob retired to Florida, and restarted the big band.

So you know that when it comes to playing all the sensational Big Band numbers, this band can do it with flying colors. The band has been territorial, namely Iowa and Nebraska. We can travel out of state if transportation, lodging, and expenses can be met.

The Jonathan Wyatt Big Band is hailed as East Anglia's premier big band. Established by Jonathan when he was just seventeen years old, the band is ever popular.

The band aims to 'capture sound of the big band era' and with seventeen musicians, plus vocalists, it certainly does.
