[ The Brooks Tegler Bands ]
Since 1979, home-based in the Washington, DC area (but touring the world), this band's focus is on the swing era music. This is not a 'pickup' band. These are full-time, professional musicians well-versed in history and styles of the Swing Era. Drummer/Leader, Brooks Tegler (who is also drummer with New Columbia Swing Orchestra when schedule allows) was influenced primarily by Gene Krupa as well as other drummers from the 1930s and 40s. It's interesting to note that the Brooks Tegler band was one of the only two bands that were included in the 'National Geographic' film presentation about Swing Dancing and Frankie Manning. Brooks Tegler has worked with Frankie and Norma numerous times through the years.

Just one of the band's entertainment presentations is the "WWII AAF Big Band" - patterned after the 4th Fighter Group's "Flying Eagles", and the 78th Fighter Group's "Thunderbirds" with the band playing music and wearing uniforms of the period. (Includes typical USO show type performers, as well.) The band's travel history and qualifications are quite extensive, including many trips to Europe, Japan and across the US. (Frankly, too extensive to list here but Brooks will happily fill you in via telephone; presskit, or e-mail.)

[ King Teddy ]
At the intersection of swing, rockabilly, and jump blues is where you'll find King Teddy, happily hanging out and humming Beatles tunes. Although our influences are varied, we are single-minded in our musical mission-- to swing, baby!
King Teddy came together in November of 2000, and since then has become a familiar name to the DC metropolitan area swing scene. Keyboard, guitar, bass and drums form the core of the group. Early on, the plan was to get a steady sax player, a fifth Teddy. In order to play gigs while we were searching for one, we were able to convince some of the Washington area's finest saxophone players to join us in the mean time. It didn't take us long to stop trying to fix what wasn't broken.
King Teddy has released, from their first album-in-progress, an EP offering called "Short Stack," which includes four original songs and two audience-favorite covers.

[ Tracy Swing Band ]
Where Good Friends and Great Music Come Together
Dances Anniversaries Weddings Banquets Parties

Hello,
Please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Steve Fuhrman, I am a member and booking agent for the Tracy Swing Band.

The Tracy Swing Band is a 17-piece big band. We are a non-profit group, made up of local musicians from the Tracy community. We are comprised of pilots, doctors, business owners, students, engineers, and more. With ages ranging from 17 to retirement, this diverse group has a unique and personable quality that will stick with you beyond our performance. Our big sounding brass, smooth saxophones, and heart pumping rhythm section, will make you fall in love with jazz all over again.

Our group performs thirties, forties, and fifties swing / big band music. We play music from jazz legends like Stan Kenton, Glen Miller, and Duke Ellington, just to name a few. Songs such as Chattanooga Choo-Choo, In the Mood, Route 66, and New York, New York, will put you on the dance floor. Any one of our ballads, Come Closer to Me, Moonlight Serenade, I left My Heart in San Francisco, or When I Fall in Love, will be sure to get you cheek to cheek with your favorite partner.

The Tracy Swing Band does charge a reasonable fee for its performances, however, we as members receive no monetary payment. All of the members time is donated so the money raised can go into a fund that purchases musical equipment for our local schools and instruments for students. We also award several scholarships each year sending students to music camps and financially assisting college students studying the art of music.

We have performed for dances, banquets, festivals, and political functions. We have played for many charitable organizations in our community as well. Whatever your special function may be, the Tracy Swing Band will be dedicated to making it memorable one for you and your guests.

If you have any questions or are interested in booking our band for your party, please contact me. I am looking forward to assisting you.

[ 30's-40's-50's Dance Band ]
On 1 January 2000, a decision was made to organize a band that would be free of any organizational ties or sponsors; a band that would receive a modest remuneration for its efforts, and include within its ranks only those musicians whose primary purpose was to play for the sheer pleasure of playing.

With that in mind, the 17-piece 30's-40's-50's Dance Band was formed, and has completed five successful performance years.

The popularity and success of the band stems from its fine performance of the authentic music from the 30's, 40's and 50's. Coupled with our very low performance fee, this has enabled us to play forty plus gigs per year, for the past five years.

We have played so many weddings, they are calling us "The Wedding Band."

Our music enhances the enjoyment of any event. Give us a call.
