This is a full sized 17 piece band of mostly younger LA area musicians with most arrangements by Tom Kubis, a top Big Band arranger whose charts are used by many bands and schools, nationally and internationally. They are a truly powerful band with some unbelievable players, including Kubis himself when he is available. The band includes five strong trumpet players, including Jack himself, who is playing better than ever. Bob Enevolson, on valve trombone, often works and travels with Jack's band. The Silver Starlite Orchestra has been performing the music of the 1940s in numerous venues for over 25 years. A traditional 19-piece big band staffed with many of the area's top musicians. We strive for authenticity and our audiences love us!
With the revitalization of swing music, the Silver Starlite Orchestra has become a real crowd favorite with both the young audiences and seniors alike. Our award-winning "Salute to America" program has been very well received at numerous Veterans Day and Memorial Day concerts throughout the Metropolitan area. One review called our program "patriotism at its peak". In addition to performing music from the World War II era, the band dresses in WWII uniforms.

[ Mike Sloan Big Band ]
The Mike Sloan Big Band was organized in August of a 1992. More than 100 professional musicians from around the greater San Francisco bay area were interviewed and auditioned before selecting the vocalists and instrumentalists that make up the existing group. The band is comprised of musicians whose careers include performances with Count Basie, Buddy Rich, Woody Herman, Les Brown, Art Pepper, modern incarnations of the Glenn Miller and Tommy Dorsey bands, the US Army Band, and the US Navy Band. Our book of over 300 arrangements spans the decades and includes many originals from the great '40's bands as well as many original arrangements written for this band and found nowhere else. This wonderful little group works a lot of weddings, anniversaries and birthdays and other functions of the like. The Sultans of Swing, most often 6-8 pieces, is really a large combo, but the main fare is swing era tunes --Let's Dance; the standards Artie Shaw did; -played at his tempos and style, loads of Benny Goodman.

Stage Door Canteen is a 12 piece big band in the Cape Cod area. We have been preforming throughout the New England area for over 10 years. Stage Door Canteen has opened for the"Comitments" in Boston and preformed in Holland during the VE day celebrations in 1995. The band is led by Berklee College of Music graduate Roger Gamache and features vocalist Deanna Kidd, a Berklee facualty member. [ Rick Stephenson & his Endangered Species Big Band ]
Only one of Canada's most exciting, dynamic Big Band Leaders and Singers ever! Rick's youthful energy (he's in his early 30's) and love of tradition, make his show both authentic entertaining. His "Vegas style" approach and smooth vocals are two reasons why one critic has described him as being "reminiscent of a young Sinatra".
Rick is also an accomplished trombonist. Actually he plays a plumber's nightmare designed by Maynard Ferguson called a superbone. This valve/slide bone has a huge unique sound. Make sure you catch one of the best Big Band performers around, in Concert, or on his new C.D. "...the Swing of Things".

Based in Findlay, Ohio, The Stan Sterner Orchestra has been entertaining folks since 1980. This is a 15 piece band made up of professional musicians from throughout the northwest Ohio region. The band has performed throughout Ohio, Indiana and Illinois. Stan passed away on Oct. 3, 1996, but the band is continuing under the direction of David Sycks and Shannon Ford, lead trumpet and lead alto, respectively.
The 15 pieces include 5 Saxes, 3 Trombones, 3 Trumpets, piano, bass, drums, and female vocalist. The music played is strictly the classic big band repertoire of the late 1930s and '40s, and now with some more contemporary hits as well.

The 'Sweethearts' are a 22 piece Big Band made up of Staff and Students at Matthew Flinders Girls Secondary College in Geelong, Victoria, Australia. BUT, this is not just some school band, oh, no, it's a tight, happening band bringing the sound of a big band into the nineties, with a combination of jazz, soul, blues and rock. THIS BAND IS BIG! (and great!) Not just 22 piece, but also 4 very fine female vocalists, 3 road crew and an MC/Manager, keeping it all going and in gigs.
They have played all over the place in Australia. Tasmania, Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria. Last year they were one of only 10 bands from throughout Australia, to perform at the Pacific Rim Jazz Summit in Sydney. Plus they had a very successful tour of the Port Fair Folk Festival, the biggest music festival in the Southern Hemisphere, playing to audiences of 5 thousand people. During 1997, the band toured France and played at the famed Montreux Jazz Festival.
The band consists of 23 female students ranging in age from 14 to 17 and 6 male staff members; pumping out a big sound, and are available for hire at any venue. For a band of this size and quality you can't go past the SWEETHEARTS OF SWING, AND their rates are incredibly affordable.

[ Sheraton Cadwell Orchestra ]
The Sheraton Cadwell Orchestra (SCO) is a 15- to 18-piece big band whose primary mandate is to raise funds to help alleviate poverty in less developed communities outside Canada.
Net proceeds from CD sales and performances are donated to international aid agencies such as UNICEF, World Vision, Oxfam, CARE, Doctors Without Borders and the Red Cross through the Global Poverty Relief Foundation (http://www.gprf.net) to support their disaster and poverty relief programs. To date, orchestra members have helped to raise over \$350,000 for charitable and humanitarian projects.
Under the leadership of Executive Director Paul Weston (http://www.paulweston.ca), the SCO is professionally managed and staffed by talented vocalists and musicians with an average of at least 10 years performing experience.
