TOP   [ Richard Olsen Big Band ]
It is truly difficult to find enough superlatives to adequately describe the Richard Olsen Orchestra. He is a founding member of the Charlatans, San Francisco's first 1960's Rock band. When the Charlatan's broke up in 1969, Richard formed the Powell Street Jazz Band, a Dixieland group, that entertained folks throughout the 70's.

In the 1980-81 season, Olsen formed a Big Band that quickly became San Francisco's premiere society group. Since then the band has played for parties at the Getty Mansion; the Black and White Ball; with shows at Slim's and Bimbo's, and many, many more. (For those functions not requiring the full 17 piece orchestra, there is even a small band-within-a-band.)

If your social or business function is special, and requires the very finest in dance and in entertainment, then the Richard Olsen Big Band is the answer.

TOP   [ The Outcast Jazz Band ]
Founded in the Summer of 1981 by the late Gilbert "Smokey" Robinson, the original OJB (actually Gilbert's Social Outcast Band) was comprised of ten kids ranging in ages from 13 to 17. Today, The Outcasts are 17 members strong, sporting 5 saxophones, 4 trombones, 4 trumpets, a full rhythm section, as well as several vocalists. They concentrate on the classic big band sounds of the 30's, 40's and 50's, but also throw in a smattering of anyone from Van Morrison to the Blues Brothers. Since that fateful summer so long ago, we have been swingin' our way through some of the most prestigious ballrooms and events in the Chicagoland Area. Drop them a note, and ask for there video or high quality audio tape. Using them at your next function could be the best decision you'll make this year.

Peaches O'Dell is a rarity, -a lady swing band leader, -but there's much, much more to the band than just that. In fact, it's hard to think of enough superlatives to describe this great 11 piece band that plays all of the Swing Hits, plus vintage Hollywood, old cartoon music and often wild, show stopping novelties, plus some of the newest millenium hits. Peaches O'Dell provides a musical package that's FUN, ORGANIZED, -and she tailors it to your taste, theme and special requirements. This combination of the best of the old with the best of the new has the Bill O'Connell Skyliners in a class all by itself. Old Hat is a college indie rock band from northern Virginia. We have been playing for about 3 years and we have built up a loyal following in the area due mostly to our energetic live shows and sing-along choruses. We would like to play shows and eventually get a record deal. We have put out 1 e.p. (6 songs), 1 full-length (12 songs), and 1 split (5 songs). We feel that we have all come to the point musically where we have put together a unique but catchy sound that could be very appealing.

OPOLE PHILHARMONIC BIG BAND performs under the name of OPOLE BIG BAND, to promote Opole city and it's province abroad. However, this is the same OPOLE BIG BAND, which works within the Opole Philharmonic. It was created thanks to the kindness of the self-governing council, The Marshal Office of the Opole Province and in particular to the Vice-Marshal of the Opole Province - Ewa Rurynkiewicz and the director of the Opole Philharmonic, Mr.Boguslaw Dawidow.

The originator and the founder of our BIG BAND is Maciej Hoszowski, a graduate of the faculty of jazz at the Katowice Music Academy. He also plays a role of our music director, conductor and writes our arrangements.

In December 2005, we got approved by the panel of the International Jazz Festival Organisation and qualified to take part in this years 40th Jubilee Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland. This is the biggest and the most prestigious festival of that kind in the world. Our band owes this success to the high standard of our performance, as well as to our friend, the soloist of the band - saxophonist Jacek Mielcarek.

Ten wielki zaszczyt big band zawdzięcza wysokiemu poziomowi wykonawczemu muzyków, a w dużej mierze znakomitemu naszemu koledze, soliście big bandu - Jackowi Mielcarkowi. Quincy Jonesa, Davida Sanborna, Jamesa Ingrama i wielu innych.
