TOP   [ The Casablanca Orchestra ]
For over a decade, the Casablanca Orchestra's impressive sound and stage presence has delighted audiences from Governors to college students all across the Southeast. This powerful, well rehearsed, swinging 18 piece Big Band features one of the top female vocalists in the area - Ms. Debbie Bennett. Her style, - reminiscent of such contemporaries as Linda Ronstadt, Whitney Houston, and Natalie Cole - adds that special touch of class to the musical presentation. A repertoire of over 300 songs covers charts of the Big Band Swing, Jazz, Latin, and Blues standards of the 40's right up to the 90's including such moderns as Thad Jones and Harry Connick, Jr. The songs range from Pop, to Beach music, to Rock and Roll "Oldies", and a number of original Big Band arrangements. This variety has made the band a real hit with all audiences, both young and old.

If all of this sounds a little too big for your event, perhaps their smaller Casablanca Combo (composed of a rhythm section and two to five horn players) will meet your needs. (Half the band at half the cost.)

A 'World Class' orchestra. Formed eight years ago, their distinctive blend of jump-swing has been immensely popular the world over. In addition to playing many European festivals, The Giants have toured the U.S. and Canada. Ray acknowledges the influence of his heros Louis Prima and Louis Jordan, as well as others of the 30's to 60's era, but he has brought the style forward. "The music we're playing now has much more substance, built around a driving ryhthm section, swinging horns and vocals with a heart!. And, the reaction of audiences shows that our commitment to creating a contemporary musical experience, rather than just re-creating the past, is proving to be a huge success". TOP   [ The Gravel Roads Blues Band ]
This three piece (keyboard, guitar and sax) band hails from Camden, S.C., and plays Jazz for parties, festivals, restaurants, and clubs. Their music easily bridges the gap created by the great variance in musical tastes among party guests and hospitality business customers. They do this by playing familliar sounding numbers in contemporary blues, swing, latin, or rock arrangements. Nobody doesn't like this band, and nobody can't afford this band.

TOP   [ Freddy and Friends Big Band ]
This great band was created years ago for the purpose of providing "Big Band Swing Music" for dancing. While the band does do concerts, it's main function is playing for folks who love the music of that era. The band has an enormous library to choose from for the various functions it plays. The band has functions each year in Orange County, California. Rehearses every week in the Ballroom of Palm Island, a Senior Community. The fees charged, are in many instances, less than what a "DJ" would charge. Why would anyone want a "DJ" when they could get an 18 piece Big Band for the same amount? Check out their website for the music they play, some of the repertoire, some more information, and photos of the band. Nothing beats live music!

TOP   [ The Joe Giattina Orch. ]
When Joe Giattina retired from the insurance business in his native Birmingham, Alabama in 1974, he longed to return to his true love, the big band business. He had a very popular band in the 1930's, which he had to abandon to better provide for his family. In the early 1970's the local Shriners formed a 17-piece big band playing for free for their parties and charitable functions. Wanting to expand commercially, they began seeking a strong musical leader. In 1978, they linked-up with Joe, and Joe Giattina and his Bama Cardinals was re-born comprised of 17 of some of the city's best pro and semi-pro musicians. The band became very popular playing for dance clubs, weddings, etc., in the finest ballrooms and country clubs in the area. Joe added locally popular Mary Ogletree in 1979. In mid 1980's Joe was inducted into the Ala. Jazz Hall of Fame. Joe's wife had a stroke in 1990, and he eventually had to turn the band over to 3 of its members, who changed the name to The Joe Giattina Orchestra. Since his death in 1998, the band has continued wowing the crowds. Under the current able leadership of Bill Jeffries, with Mary still pleasing the audiences, the 19-member band wants to make your next function a memorable one. Visit our web site for details.

TOP   [ The Gorgeous ]
The story of how The Gorgeous was formed is one of magic, intrigue, and its really long, so you should go get a snack first. No, wait- I was reading the back of The Lord of The Rings by accident. Ours is much shorter and contains fewer Hobbits. Guitarist, Eric Meehan brought 4 of his good friends together to jam and eventually practices led to shows at the local grange hall, which led to more legitimate shows. About to finish up a year of gigging outside their hometown The Gorgeous have recently won a talent show, guest-starred on the pilot for a local cable station, and released their second studio recording The Concept EP. The Gorgeous combine No Doubt style vocals with Cure-inspired pop/alt rock songs tinged with a reggae and sometimes jazzy feel. They remain accessible throughout their musical wanderings. Covers includes songs from The Pixies, The Cure, Radiohead, Incubus, and more.

TOP   [ Bruce Graham Big Band ]
Bruce Graham has run a big band since the 1950s when he first formed one to entertain on hospital radio in his home town of Dundee, Scotland. When he went professional in 1961 (at the age of 19) he worked with every 'name' bandleader in England as a sideman, before concentrating on his own bands full-time. He still runs a trio, quartet, septet, nontet, and a full big band, as well as running the Croydon Jazz Orchestra, (a semi-professional rehearsal band). The Bruce Graham Big Band is a band with its' own unique 'sound', like back in the old days of the swing era. All the members are top London professionals, and the band is often booked for their ability to accompany cabaret acts, - a long-forgotten skill nowadays. Checkout the website for more details about this fantastic big band.

TOP   [ Gone With The Swing ]
