TOP   [ Felix and All The Cats ]
Just look at some of these rave reviews:
"[Felix and the Cats'].... sound is irresistible: big, brassy and masculine. It's the sound of swing" - Daily News, June 23, 1999

"Fronted by veteran hepcat Sol Yaged but driven by some of the hottest young players around, Felix Endico's outfit plays the real Swing music, the sexy, muscular pre-big-band Fletcher Henderson charts." - New York Press, July 1998.

This 14-piece Swing band playing in New York City for over six years plays in the "Harlem style" that is looser and "bluesier" than ever, allowing for a greater degree of spontaneity and creative freedom. The band is an amalgam of young swing turks, and veteran luminaries such as Sol Yaged, Tootsie Bean, Al Bryant, and Eddie Bert. These men have played with great musicians including Fletcher Henderson, Earl Hines, Erskine Hawkins, and Benny Goodman. Is this one great group or what? The band has the ability to supply anythng from a Solo piano to trios, quartets, and all the way up to one Swinging Big Band. Whatever your plans, --a civic or corporate function, concert, Dance, Wedding, or simply a great private Gala, you will find this band to be absolutely perfect, - and perfectly affordable too. TOP   [ Joe Ferrari Big Band and Combo ]
The band was begun in 1983 by Joe Ferrari, Jr. of San Jose, CA as a lifelong dream realized, following his retirement from civil service. Joe played clarinet, since the age of nine, and later accordion and piano, and continued a successful music career throughout high school and college during the height of the big band era, as he pursued a degree in music. During and after WWII, Joe married and raised a family, but music always remained a vital part of his life; in fact, he raised his children on the great American music genre of jazz and swing. Joe again gained enormous success and recognition with his traditional big band, particularly in the South Bay Area, bringing fun and nostagia into the lives of its followers. When tragedy took his life in 1998, Joe's daughter, Judy Ferrari, lead vocalist in his band, took over leadership of the band, and along with her sister, Gerri, also a vocalist, they keep the band going in the spirit of their father, with original and new band members, many of whom had played with the best of the name bands during the swing era.
