THE WELL KNOWN RECORDING AND RADIO STUDIO BANDS
It is interesting to note that a great many of the well known and popular
orchestras of the Big Bands Era were actually used mainly for either Radio
Shows, or for Recording Labels (or both). These bands, though very well
known, were rarely seen outside of the 'Studios'.
Here follows just a very small listing of so called "studio
orchestras". (Virtually all of them are listed on our main
Amercan Bands Database.) Even though these bands primarily played music
for their sponsors radio show and for various Record Labels, they would
occasionally do a real "gig".
