Subject: Looking for bassist vocalist and 2nd guitarist
Hey whats up? Me and my guitarist are in search of a bassist, vocalist, and a 2nd guitarist to complete our lineup. We have 6 project songs that are in process, they are turning out very well. We have been jamming together and trying to get this project rolling for over a year now. We are located in the west suburbs of chicago. St.charles/Elgin area. Our influences range from The Black Dahilia Murder, At The Gates, Jungle Rot, Himsa, Slayer, Pantera, Fragments Of Unbecoming, Remembering Never, Morbid Angel, All That Remains, Dying Fetus. The style of our music is ranged through all those bands. We have extremely fast parts in our writting, we have melodicness and we also throw in heavy breakdowns in our writing. Its safe to say there is a bit of techniqality also with us ( nowere near the band deaths style though thats just insane.) We practice right now on the weekends until our future plans follow through of getting a spot to jam whenever we want too. Our age is 19 and 20 we are looking for someone that is around that age group also. We need you to have your own ride to and from practice, have your own gear cuz we dont have anything for anyone else to use. We have hookups for studio recording when it is needed. If this ad intrests you at all give me a call @ 630-762-0884 ask for bob or email me @ tankenator1@aol.com thanks for reading and hopefully one of yous will respond and work out!!

Subject: Virginia "Cookie" Howard
I am researching all info on an obscure singer (my mother) as well as a band drummer. Back in the 1940's my mom sang with a band I do not know the name of. She had a stage name of "Cookie" family lore has it that whenever she came on stage the crowd would start singing "Lookie, lookie, lookie, here comes Cookie". Her real name was Virginia Howard. She died in 1982. The drummer was Sam (Samuel) Otto and I have no info on him other than he was from Italy and they both lived in Canton, Ohio in 1943. Any stories, leads to more info on their singing days would be appreciated. Regards, Sonja W.

Subject: LOU BREESE
Great website. I just learned more about Lou Breese then I knew before. I'm very interested in Lou Breese and the 1937 Cord Custom Beverly he bought new from Merrill Madsen Chevrolet-Cord in Mpls. Mn. (I understand that he lived in Mpls. for 12 years). This Cord was unique because Mr. Breese had a sunroof put in the car so he could wave at his fans out of it. My interest in the car and Mr. Breese is because our family has owned this car since May of 1962. Somewhere out there, there has to be a picture of Mr. Breese with his Cord car. I would like to hear from anyone who remembers Mr. Breese Cord or has pictures. Stories of Mr. Breece are of interest too. Thank You very Much.

Subject: Kathmandu Jazz Festival
Dear Sir / Madam,
Greetings from Nepal!
The first Kathmandu Jazz Festival was held in March 2002, and was a great success. In its first year, The Kathmandu Jazz Festival gained a reputation for high quality jazz, sound and performances. In the first year itself we flew three international bands and Mr. Don Burrows, Australia's leading jazz musician who is described as a 'National Living Treasure', to Nepal for the Supper Club event. This set the reputation of the festival in terms of its ability to attract stars and 'masters'. Since then we have had the Kathmandu Jazz Festival every year in March and many reputed musicians have performed at the festival. Some of them are Trilok Gurtu (master percussionist), Afro Dizzi Act (the favourite band from the previous year) and Jesse van Ruller (leading European jazz guitarist), Louis Banks Brotherhood, Urban Connection from Norway, Simak Dialog from Indonesia, Hannah Vasanth Trio from England, Max Lolo from Benin, Africa, and Soul Mate from Shillong. This year we are organized a free show for school students with the help of SEBS (Society of Ex-Budhanilkantha Students) for the younger generation. Keeping in mind our theme of "Music for Peace in the World", there was a Jazzmandu Peace Parade in Lazimpat during the 2-week festival. The parade included international musicians,Nepali musicians and traditional dancers, Buddhist monks chanting peace prayers, and vintage bikes and cars. The festival is coordinated by Mr. Navin Chettri (cadenzadaj@hotmail.com) and Mr. Mahesh Sajnani (serenehome@enet.com.np)

In this email we respectfully request you to help us publicize the Festival, such as through your Events and News columns, your Festival Listings, by passing the information to your members and readers, or any other way you can. Thanks!

Carlton Club
G. Ponting - Piano
J. Lindsey - Guitar
G. Shannon - Drums
J. Morehead - Bass
C. Lynn - Trombone
M. Sloman - Trumpet

# 1 lp = Honeysuckle,

Subject: BIG BAND
I'm sorry I didn't read my post more closely prior to sending it. I misused the word usually. What I meant to say was the minimal amount of members in a "big band" would be ten. Usually a big band will have 12,15 or more members, sometimes with strings, french horn, etc. In addition would be the vocalist or vocal group. Sorry for the error.

Subject: Classical Sheet Music Collection
Gentlemen:
I am searching for someone who would like to acquire a large collection of printed chamber music, The collection consists of about 200 bound books of chamber music in sets for a chamber duo, trio, quartette, and some quintettes and some full orchestras. In addition there are several hundred folders with loose sheet music. Some of the music is for vocal with string or piano accompanyment. The entire collection is meticulously documented in three directories, one each by composer, by piece title, and by instrument ensemble needed.
The collection was assembled in the early 1930's with some of the printings dating before 1900 . Pieces were added up through the 1950's.
At this time I have some very interested music schools/institutions. Before I consider a donation, I need an appraisal. However I am also seeking a buyer for the entire collection. The collection is in Patchogue, New York (Long Island)
Thank you for your attention. You may contact me as follows:

I am traveling with a band to play a few shows in Belgium, and I Don't want to haul my Bass comboAmp with me. I really don't want to pay the "over limit" luggage fees, and worry about the electrical conversions. Any suggestions or music store contacts in London, (first Stop) whereas I may be able to rent or purchase, a combo Amp on that side of the pond? Or, I can take my Hartke 12 in it's road case, but, I am gonna end up paying up to $160.00 in fees and the hassle of a 10lb voltage regulator/convertor adaptors etc... Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

Subject: Trying to locate Jimmy Scalise
My name is Wayne Holt.
I am trying to locate a musician that played with the Jimmy Dorsey band and later the Duke Ellington band.
His name was Jimmy Scalise and later I understand he might have changed his name to Jimmy Rogers.
He is a relative of my mother's.
I have tried all I know to find him. He may even have died by now; in which case I would like to find where he was buried, before my mother passes.
The last time she heard from him was in about 1945 or so.
He played the trombone.
Can you help me. If not, can you give me some ideas as to who might be able to help me.
Thank you
