Subject: My Baby Just Cares For Me
I'm looking for an arrangement of Nina Simone's "My Baby Just Cares For Me" for the school big band that I run. I'd be willing to trade but so far only have a fairly small list! Another one that the kids in my school want to do is "Mack the Knife" - with all the key changes! If anyone out there can help out, both I and the kids would be very happy and grateful! Cheers and happy music making.

Hi, just starting to get involved with bands, complete novice to the scene though. got some like minded friends together, really good players but totally new to this way of playing. we even have mellophones, but nothing to play. just really wondering if anyone can 'start us off' with some cool stuff. obviously we'd really like to attmept some kenton (and the xmas ones would be good for next year!) but also woody herman, basie, dave holland, ray charles, mingus, ted heath, maynard.....anything! vocal is ok too. arrangements or transcriptions gratefully recieved. obviously, we're perhaps totally reliant on the good will of others but hopefully once we get up and running in the new year we'll have something to trade at least! cheers Jim

Subject: Charts trades
Could I have the following entry put in place of the old one please.
Hello all, my name is Allen Cook and I run a big band with vocalists. The band is The Allen Francis Big Band'. First of all I would apologise to anyone who tried to contact me in response to previous entry and to which I haven't replied. For the last six months my band has been very much 'on the back burner' due to car accidents and then illness within my family.
I have now got the band going again and again am looking for chart trades.
I have several thousand charts in my library including lots of Sinatra vocals. and a lot of girl vocals. Generally our main interest is in record copies from the great big bands and singers - mostly of the past. However, more modern type charts are also of interest. If anyone is interested in some trades then contact me. Let me know your main interest and I will send you copies of my lists.
At the moment I am trying to get hold of Sinatra's 'Begin the beguine' and any vocal arrangement of 'Who's taking you home tonight'.
My email address is : allenfcook@blueyonder.co.uk Thanking you, Allen F Cook

Any interest in a compliation CD of bass parts? Over 250 parts scanned from an original 1950's Dance Band pad. They are all pdf's scanned from the original parts as they didn't have photocopiers in those days! Good for sight reading practice - wide variety of pieces dating up to about 1960. I'm looking for a compilation CD/DVD of dance band arrangements pdf's, preferably with vocals - unfortunately the one we have been using for our amateur band has cracked and we've no backup copy....hindsight is a wonderful thing!
